Having a birthday party, a child-friendly wedding or another special event? Lewisham Toy Library can help! We provide a party hire and soft play hire service for people living across the Borough of Lewisham. Our party hire service is low cost, with discounted rates for Lewisham Toy Library members.

We have soft play, large toys such as Toss the beanbag, Balance board, Giant Jenga, Giant Four in Row and Hula hoops available for hire. Consider hiring out some of our larger toys including trampolines and tents – perfect for a kids party. We can also provide childrens tables and chairs upon request. Simply email us to reserve the items in time for your big day.

Party Hire summary terms

Payment and deposit

  • A booking is confirmed only once full payment is received: the hire fee plus a £100 deposit.
  • The hire period is 5 days. The deposit is refunded if items come back on time, clean and undamaged.

Deposit deductions

  • Late return: 50% of the booking value for each day late.
  • Returned dirty: £30.
  • Damaged: the cost of a replacement.
  • Lost: the full deposit, unless you provide a replacement.

Cancellations (must be in writing to partyhire@lewishamtoylibrary.org.uk)

  • More than 5 working days before the event: full refund.
  • Fewer than 5 working days before, on the day, or after collection: only the deposit is refunded.
  • If we cancel because items are unavailable or unsafe: refund for the affected items, or an alternative we both agree on.
  • Severe weather or other events outside our control: where practical, we’ll reschedule or offer a credit.
